The funk and punk trappings ordinarily found in their releases are sparse on Syclops' debut album and there is very little cowbell. Likewise, with few exceptions, the tracks on Eye are much more landscape than foreground. The negative spaces are filled with dreamy synths and squelches. The array of tone colors floating around the middle of the mix provides ample reward for repeated listens.
